World Cup barely started and Ping is losing sleep already. Hmm...wait, it's not all about the World Cup ler. I did watch 2 games yesterday and all three games today but then I still had stuff in the lab that needs to be done before I leave so have to sacrifice sleep lor. And....was partying this afternoon too. It's Fan's birthday today so we went to Peanut Barrel to celebrate it.
Was up since 3am this morning preparing for today's experiments. Got into lab by 5am and started working on the gel from my PCR amplification. Went over to watch the game, came back to stain my gel, have lunch and back to watch both the 12pm and 3pm game. There goes my day. But they were all really fun games to watch, unlike England's game on Saturday. Am thinking of skipping their game on Friday too if I haven't finish packing. I have yet to start putting stuff together yet..or even think about what to bring there. Part of me is not looking forward to the trip because there's an interesting project that I can do here right now. Part of me wish that I'll be leaving for home instead of for Boston. But mom and dad won't be around and bro won't be home so that means nothing to do and no car to drive and cousins are in school = boredom! But then again, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it is not easy to come by. It could be the turning point of my life if things turn out great.
At Peanut Barrel this afternoon, everyone was drinking. We ordered a pitcher of Blue Moon (a wheat beer that is really popular during the summer). I have never tried it since Ping and beer just don't get along very well. Sometimes if I have a ride home, I would get Long Island as they have awesome ones there. But Ping had to come back to lab to do a transformation so that I can pick the colonies for sequencing tomorrow. As usual, I got the 'aww...she's such a goody-two-shoes'. Sometimes I don't really wanna be that...but when you're so used to being responsible, it's hard to get over yourself to do something 'bad'. Hence, Ping was the earliest to leave and without having a sip of alcohol at all. Good girl leh :P
Now am waiting for my transformants to incubate and then I can plate them and go home to my comfortable bed and softies. Am too tired to read anything or write anything while I'm awake so here I am...tired, wishing I don't have to drive home and sleepy.
