It's Friday night! Went out to get some baby stuff for Uri and Rachel's baby, Channa. It was also a Christmas shopping trip for Jen...so productive when one knows what they want! Dan used to take forever to go Christmas shopping, last year, he had to go back to Cali without a present for his lil bro, which he end up getting him a Blockbuster gift cert. online.
After all the shopping, we went over to Steph's place and had fun making and EATING dinner. The appetizer was Tater Tots - kinda like French fries but it's much shorter and fatter with a crispy layer on the outside.
The main dish - cocktail sausage wrap. Jen cut the Pillsbury Crescent dough into half and we wrapped it around the cocktail sausage, or frankfurters as they call it here (have to be careful when buying them because some of the sausage are thin, tiny, oily ones that taste weird. Never did develop a taste for them. They can also come in round shaped like the Sausage McMuffin at McD). Baked them in the oven (biasalah...all kuai lo food uses the oven as a very important cooking utensil..a si boh, ha mik pun beh hiow choo) until it's golden brown. Reminds Ping of Tua Ee's hot dog bun...it's been a long time.
We also had salad - one of the food that Ping really likes here. They should definitely serve it at McD back home. Steph introduced Ping to a new salad dressing and Ping loves it! It is the Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette. This is now Ping's second favorite salad dressing, next to the Japanese miso-sesame-ginger salad dressing.
