KS is not the only one who has to say goodbye to his handphone. Ping changed carrier. From T-Mobile to Verizon Wireless. T-Mobile was just very inconvenient as Ping has to be at specific area to get good signal. Since Ping's contract is up, Ping decided to change to Verizon. Unfortunately, Verizon cannot be supported by Ping's Sony Ericsson T610. After calculations, Ping would save more with Verizon too.
As a Christmas present for herself, Ping bought a Nokia 6315i. Love it so far!! Great camera. 1.3Mpixel. Much better than Ping's T610. But Ping like the size and shape of T610 better. Easy to carry around. The Nokia is a flip phone so can be a bit mafan at times. The camera lense is also placed a little weird. But Ping is starting to get used to it. Been taking lots of pics today. It has a larger memory than T610 too - 20MB. The memory can be upgraded with Micro SD, especially if Ping wants to add more songs to it. It only takes WMP format, which is bigger than .mp3 or .mp4 so can only put a max of 6 songs maybe. Unfortunately, it'll be one that Ping can only use in the States as it is a CDMA phone. Verizon don't have any GSM phones. But since Ping will be here for a few more years, might as well save on the bills than to have a GSM phone but expensive bills. When Ping goes back, Ping still can use her T610 anyway.
Been playing around with it and finally figured out how to add the calling card feature. But then Ping still don't know how to receive SMS from home. Only been able to send it home so far. Had ah boy SMS me by using reply and Ping didn't receive it. Mei tried it too and Ping didn't get any of the SMS. Probably it has something to do with Verizon's service. Aiks.
As Nokia is slightly shorter than T610, Ping can also use the little handphone case that Tua Kim bought for Ping from her trip to Kunming! Fits just nice!
